Zeppelin 1917

October 7th – 27th

Almost one hundred years ago, on October 19 1917, a Zeppelin bomb landed in Calmington Road, Southwark killing 10 people, injuring 24 and demolished a fish and chip shop, doctor’s surgery and houses. The Friends of Burgess Park project “Zeppelin 1917” will uncover the stories of local heroes and piece together the dramatic raid right over what is now Burgess Park.

During September Art in the Park ran a series of wallpaper making workshops as part of the Zeppelin 1917 project. And these wallpapers are now on display as part of the full Zeppelin 1917 exhibition. The Zeppelin 1917 exhibition can be found at Theatre Delicatessen every Saturday in October, and Thursday 26th and Friday 27th Oct, from 1pm – 5:30pm.

Art in the Park will also be running a badge making workshop on October 26th at Theatre Delicatessen from 3pm – 5pm.
