Marking Places is a creative project funded by Big Lottery Fund Awards For All. We are working with the community to create three commemorative markers for heritage sites in Burgess Park.
A huge thank you to everyone who has participated with their interesting suggestions and creativity so far!
We have gathered great research and ideas along with some great ideas about remembering places and using different forms and materials. We are inviting people to do further research with us on these sites and will cross reference with any work done by the Friends of Burgess Park ‘Bridge to Nowhere’ Project.
Our first two markers will commemorate the North Camberwell Radical Club and the industries that were once located on the site of the park.
The sessions to design the 3rd marker will remember the Market Gardens that stood on the park site. These will start on Tuesday 25th April at our studio from 11am-1pm
